Heat 1 saw rookie Jordan take the early lead and hold on for the win. However, there was three wide racing behind him. Rose had moved up to 2nd by lap 6 and was closing in on Jordan at the finish.

Heat 2 was probably the best--no, it was the best heat race> seen all year and then some. Miller took the early lead, however, with the exception of Miller, the next five cars were running two and three wide, exchanging places each lap, and at the finish, could not have been more then 3 car lengths separating 2 through 6thplace.

Heat 3 saw Sarver take the lead with Mann taking over on lap 2 with Wolfe right behind. Wolfe passed Mann the next time around and went on for the win. C. Smith had to start on the tail as he had something happen with the car in hot laps and was unable to take a qualification time.

Heat 4 had Veach with the early lead with Atkins taking over on lap 2. Jarrett took over the top spot on lap 4.

In the B, Stanbrough took the early lead and was never challenged. There was a good battle between Veach, Pletch, and Roush for the final two transfer spots.

Feature had Wolfe taking the early lead with Stanbrough running 2nd. On lap 9, Stanbrough got a little too high allowing Wolfe to pull about a 1/2 straight away lead. When Wolfe started to get into traffic on lap 13, Mann spun in turn 3 and hit the guardrail--he was done for the night. On lap 18, Anderson and Jarrett got together in turn 1, with Roush moving up to 5th place. Top four drivers were running the high line with Roush taking the low side. On the restart, Rose went low, taking over the 2nd spot. On lap 19, Stanbrough got a little too high allowing Roush to move into 3rd. With five laps to go, Rose, Roush and Wolfe were all together. The last four laps saw Rose and Roush exchanging the lead each time around with Rose, once again, just inching out Roush for the win.

Next Friday, Jack Hewitt will be at Gas City with his two-seater sprint car where two lucky fans will be chosen to take a ride through a raffle.
