In the first heat, Mann took the early lead and had Possman beside him on the white flag lap. In heat 2, Jarrett made it 4-wide going down the backstretch to take the lead spot from the 4th position. Good battle for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th between Jordan, Rose, and Anderson. In heat 3, Thomas took the lead from his 5th starting spot with Elliott getting by him on lap 6. In heat 4, Roush took the early lead with Puterbaugh, B. Williams, Grider, Pletch, and Shively all battling behind him. In the B, Wolfe got the early lead. Hassler started to get sideways on the front stretch and rolled over. He was okay. In the feature, Anderson got the early lead. On lap 3, Pletch ran up over the back of Jarrett causing Jarrett to come to a stop. Rose tried to avoid and rolled over--he was okay. On lap 5, Thomas got around Anderson in turn 2 only to have Anderson take it back in turn 3. On lap 7, Thomas got the lead. On lap 14, Thomas, Anderson, Shiely, Stanbrough and Petty were all bunched together. On lap 16, Anderson again took over the lead. On lap 18, they were three wide with Anderson, Thomas, and Shively with Thomas taking over the lead. On lap 21, Anderson started to lose it in turn 2 but got a nudge from Shively who straightened him out, but Petty had no where to go. Anderson and Shively kept going but Petty stopped in turn 2 and was pushed into the pits. The remaining laps had Anderson and Thomas side by side and even after the crossed the finish line, took several minutes to determine who actually crossed first. Another great night of racing at Gas City. I will be missing next week's show to go to Knoxville, but results will be posted.
