Heat one (started, *qualified for feature): 1. Chris Walraven 56 (2*) 2. Wayne Johnson 14AJ (4*) 3. Mike Reinke 02 (1*) 4. Chad Meyer 1w (6*) 5. Skip Jackson 2 (8*) 6. Brian Brown 21 (7) 7. Mike Kertscher 80K (9) 8. Tim St. Arnold 7w (11) 9. Seth Brahmer 13x (5) 10. Wayne Modjeski 77 (12) 11. Lynton Jeffrey 4AU (3) DNS - Michael Jones 1a (10)

Passing points were used tonight instead of time trials. Jones took a tumble in hot laps after breaking an axle and didn't make the call. Walraven led the distance to set a new 8 lap track record at 2:03.2 breaking his own 2001 mark of 2:03.7. The track was very fast with mostly single-file action after the first lap or two. Meyer and Jackson used good starts to garner enough points to transfer to the feature.

Heat two (started, *qualified for feature): 1. Jon Agan 4 (2*) 2. Ty Bartz 75 (1*) 3. Mike Moore 69 (4*) 4. Kim Mock 1m (3) 5. Eric Vanderploeg 7x (6) 6. Billy Alley 22 (9) 7. Joe Roe 61 (7) 8. Terry McCarl 24 (11) 9. Mike Stefka 83D (5) 10. Jerry Richert Jr. 55K (8) 11. Jaymie Moyle 5m (12) 12. Bill Warren 95 (10)

Agan led the distance, winning by almost a half a lap in a mostly single-file, wicked fast event. Warren bowed out on lap four. McCarl utilized a rainout to visit Knoxville and Huset's this weekend. The narrow, fast track didn't aid him in his quest from the tail.

Heat three (started, *qualified for feature): 1. Matt Moro 47 (12*) 2. Scott Young 3 (5*) 3. Ryan Anderson 71R (4*) 4. Kaley Gharst 44G (7) 5. Matt Folstad 1H (11*) 6. Dave Uttech 68 (8) 7. Jason Johnson 44 (9) 8. Fred Ebler 64 (3) 9. Jesse Giannetto D1 (10) 10. Clint Garner 40 (1) DNS - Robert Bell 71 (2), Scott Grissom 19K (6)

Garner grabbed the early lead from the pole, but lost a left side wing panel on lap two and went pitside. Young inherited the lead. Young led Moro, Anderson, Gharst and Giannetto back to the green flag. Giannetto stopped and exited before a lap could be completed. Moro, benefiting from two DNS's in the outside rows was a rocket and moved around Young on the last lap for an impressive last to first run as the track was beginning to widen and allow more passing.

Heat four (started, *qualified for feature): 1. Don Droud Jr. 17G (2*) 2. Kurt Winker 48H (1*) 3. Scott Neitzel 2w (3*) 4. Justin Henderson D11 (5) 5. Calvin Landis 70 (7) 6. Billy Balog 4c (6) 7. Colin Northway 60 (8) 8. Ian Madsen F5 (9) 9. Scott Uttech 7 (10) 10. KJ Skelton 80 (4) 11. Andy Hunt 9A (11)

Droud, who will compete in the 17G for the rest of 2005, dusted the field in a flag to flag run. Henderson worked over Neitzel the final couple of laps but fell short at the line.

Heat five (started, *qualified for feature): 1. Kerry Madsen 55 (2*) 2. Danny Wood 66 (1*) 3. Travis Whitney 9 (8*) 4. Ricky Logan 10 (10*) 5. Brooke Tatnell 8 (11*) 6. Scott Biertzer 4B (4) 7. Todd Hepfner 28 (5) 8. Kurt Davis 6K (3) 9. Steve Meyer 85m (7) 10. Ryan Irwin 49 (9) DNS - Tyler Houseman 50 (6)

Madsen led wire to wire following up his win last week. Whitney, Logan and Tatnell took advantage of a widening track to move up through the pack and earn transfers.

C main (started): 1. Garner (10) 2. I. Madsen (1) / 3. Jeffrey (14) 4. Davis (2) 5. S. Meyer (7) 6. S. Uttech (3) 7. Skelton (11) 8. Moyle (13) 9. Warren (16) 10. Irwin (12) 11. Hunt (15) 12. Bell (17) 13. Modjeski (8) 14. Brahmer (4) 15. Stefka (5) 16. Giannetto (6) 17. Richert (9) DNS - Grissom

The initial green saw carnage as I. Madsen slipped up the track and his right rear stuck Brahmer sending him into a series of hellacious flips. The front axel ripped off, soaring about twice as high as the catch fence, and the fuel tank flew from the flagstand to the turn one staging area in the infield. Fortunately, Brahmer walked to the ambulance under his own power and would later return to the track. Giannetto clipped Brahmer, and Stefka and Richert also suffered heavy damage in the melee. Once back underway, I. Madsen took the point. Garner benefited from competitors being eliminated after being black flagged to the rear on a prior try at green. He took the lead on lap three and sailed to victory.

B main (started): 1. Landis (4) 2. Henderson (2) 3. McCarl (11) 4. Brown (5) / 5. Mock (1) 6. Northway (14) 7. Biertzer (9) 8. St. Arnold (12) 9. Hepfner (15) 10. Kertscher (8) 11. Vanderploeg (3) 12. Roe (13) 13. Balog (10) 14. D. Uttech (7) 15. I. Madsen (18) 16. Garner (17) 17. Alley (6) 18. J. Johnson (16) DNS - Gharst, Ebler

Mock shot to the lead early. Henderson was in pursuit and shot around the leader in lapped traffic on lap five. A series of events brought a lap nine caution. I. Madsen slapped the turn one wall and had to replace a right rear. Alley exited while running third. Kertscher and Vanderploeg got together on the backstretch. The restart saw Henderson leading Landis, Brown, Mock and a surging McCarl. McCarl made his move around Mock and Brown before I. Madsen suffered a wicked series of flips down the frontstretch. He was transported to the hospital, but was communicating with emergency personnel. Henderson now led Landis, McCarl, Brown and Mock back to green. Landis shot around Henderson immediately to conquer a stacked B main.

A main (started): 1. Madsen (8) 2. Tatnell (15) 3. Logan (1) 4. Wood (2) 5. Droud (9) 6. McCarl (23) 7. Agan (10) 8. Reinke (16) 9. Henderson (22) 10. Jackson (20) 11. W. Johnson (7) 12. Young (6) 13. Brown (24) 14. Winker (3) 15. Moore (13) 16. Landis (21) 17. Bartz (4) 18. Anderson (18) 19. Neitzel (19) 20. C. Meyer (17) 21. Whitney (5) 22. Moro (12) 23. Walraven (11) 24. Folstad (14)

Logan took the early advantage with Wood in tow in the 20 lapper. Row four starters Madsen and W. Johnson duked it out, banging wheels a couple of times as the moved into the top five. The contact cost W. Johnson his left rear tire, and he stopped to bring out a caution on lap eight, and restarted at the rear. Logan led Wood, Madsen, Droud and Winker back to Doug Clark's green flag. Tatnell and McCarl were movers through the field as was C. Meyer who was up to seventh before spinning out on lap 18. Logan had been masterful in traffic, but now would face a green, white, checker finish, leading Madsen, Wood, Tatnell and Agan. With no lapped traffic in the order, Madsen made his winning move, taking his second win in a row and eighth overall at Knoxville. Tatnell followed him by Logan to complete a nice charge. McCarl earned hard-charger honors and an extra $300 for moving up 17 spots. Other notable chargers were Reinke, Henderson, Jackson and Brown.

360s

Heat one (started, *qualified for feature): 1. John Kearney 83B (1*) 2. Larry Ball Jr. 5J (4*) 3. Eric Mason B29 (6*) 4. John Schulz 2 (8*) 5. Eddie Leavitt Jr. F4 (3) 6. Natalie Sather 94s (9) 7. William Eggimann 77w (10) 8. Davey Heskin 56x (5) DNS - Rod Richards 5 (2), Jon Corbin 33c (7)

Kearney led the distance in a mostly single-file affair, setting a new track record for seven laps at 1:53.2 eclipsing Billy Alley's 2003 mark of 1:53.9. The track was heavy early and passing was at a premium.

Heat two (started, *qualified for feature): 1. Bobby Mincer 10 (1*) 2. Josh Higday 24 (3*) 3. Eric Jobe 23 (2*) 4. David Hesmer 1 (6) 5. Mitchell Alexander 6 (5) 6. Mike Houseman Jr. Y5 (7) 7. Rager Phillips 9 (4) 8. Dustin Lindquist 55L (10) 9. Mike Przyborski 27 (9) 10. Dustin Selvage 7 (8)

Mincer led flag to flag. The best battle was between Higday and Jobe for second, but still not much room to pass.

Heat three (started, *qualified for feature): 1. Joe Beaver 53 (1*) 2. John Hall 7H (2*) 3. Dusty Zomer 1z (4*) 4. Johnny Anderson 7a (5) 5. Jake Peters 57x (3) 6. Randy Martin 14 (7) 7. Tony Bruce Jr. 18 (8) 8. Gary Moyer 5m (9) 9. Dan Thornburg 57T (6) 10. Scott Winters R19 (10)

Beaver dusted the field, leading the distance. Again, not much passing to speak of. Winters brought out a caution when he came to a stop on lap two.

Heat four (started, *qualified for feature): 1. Bronson Maeschen 96 (2*) 2. Jarod Smith 48 (4*) 3. Stevie Walsh 20 (6*) 4. Tom Lenz 8L (3) 5. Terry Alexander 77 (5) 6. Nate Mosher 22N (8) 7. Alan Zoutte 33 (7) 8. Mike Houseman Y2 (1) DNS - Nick Eastin 25

Eastin flipped in hot laps and scratched for the night. Maeschen led the distance. Walsh got by Lenz after a spirited duel for third. Houseman was running a strong second when he went pitside on lap four.

Heat five (started, *qualified for feature): 1. Frankie Heimbaugh 04 (1*) 2. Rob Edwards 22 (4*) 3. David Hall 51 (3) 4. Brett Mather 54 (7*) 5. Ryan Jamison 51J (5) 6. Jake Martens 48x (8) 7. Nate Van Haaften 3 (9) 8. Jerry Crabb 12x (6) DNS - Pete Crall 11 (2)

Heimbaugh led the distance in convincing fashion. Nice charge by Mather, moving up three spots and earning a transfer on a track that was slowly widening. Crabb exited on lap three.

C main (started): 1. Phillips (2) 2. Lindquist (6) / 3. Zoutte (3) 4. Winters (10) 5. Van Haaften (1) 6. Moyer (4) 7. Heskin (5) 8. Thornburg (8) 9. Przyborski (7) 10. Selvage (9) DNS - Houseman, Crabb, Richards, Eastin

Phillips led flag to flag. Lindquist moved up nicely and got around Zoutte with two to go for the final transfer to the B.

B main (started): 1. Hesmer (1) 2. Peters (7) 3. D. Hall (2) 4. Anderson (3) / 5. Mosher (9) 6. M. Alexander (6) 7. Lenz (4) 8. Martens (14) 9. Lindquist (18) 10. Martin (13) 11. Sather (11) 12. Leavitt (5) 13. T. Alexander (8) 14. Eggimann (15) 15. Phillips (17) 16. Jamison (10) 17. Houseman Jr. (12) 18. Bruce (16)

Hesmer led throughout. On lap four, contact between Houseman Jr. and Bruce sidelined both. The restart saw Hesmer leading Anderson, D. Hall, Lenz and Peters. Peters benefited greatly from the restart and quickly disposed of Lenz and Hall, and eventually Anderson to complete a nice run. Mosher ran a strong race, but finished one spot short of the A.

A main (started): 1. Ball (4) 2. Mason (1) 3. Higday (6) 4. Beaver (9) 5. Peters (18) 6. Zomer (13) 7. Smith (8) 8. Kearney (11) 9. Schulz (15) 10. D. Hall (19) 11. Edwards (2) 12. Walsh (5) 13. Hesmer (17) 14. Mincer (10) 15. Anderson (20) 16. Heimbaugh (7) 17. Maeschen (12) 18. Jobe (16) 19. Mather (14) 20. J. Hall (3)

Mason led early in the 15 lapper. J. Hall came to a stop bringing caution to lap three. Mason surged ahead, leading ball back to lapped traffic on lap ten. A stumble behind the lapped machine of Mather gave Ball the opening he needed to shoot around Mason and lead the final six laps for his second win of the season and third overall. Defending champ, Peters, earned hard-charger honors and an extra $100 for moving forward 13 spots.
